What Obie Does
Obie helps you understand your medical bills and Explanations of Benefits (EOBs). You upload or paste a document, and we analyze it to flag potential errors and suggest next steps.
Information We Collect
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and first name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Documents you upload: We process the medical bills and EOBs you submit for analysis. These documents may contain personal health information.
- Case data: If you open a case, we store your notes, call logs, and any additional documents you attach.
- Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe provides us with your customer ID and subscription status.
- Usage data: We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous page view data. This does not include personal identifiers.
How We Use Your Information

- To save your cases, notes, and call logs so you can return to them
- To manage your account and subscription
- To improve the product
How We Protect Your Information
Your documents and case data are stored in Supabase with row-level security — only you can access your own data. All connections are encrypted via HTTPS. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or medical documents with third parties.
Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate Obie:
- Supabase — authentication and database
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI analysis of your documents
- Stripe — payment processing
- Vercel — hosting and anonymous analytics
- NPPES (HHS) — we look up provider NPI numbers against the federal National Provider registry to verify provider information on your bills. Only the NPI number is sent — no patient data.
Your uploaded documents are sent to Anthropic for analysis. Anthropic does not use data submitted through their API to train models.
Data Retention
Your account data and case history are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your Account page, which removes your profile and associated data.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email.
